Taught digital marketing basics and mentored recent grads through a 16-week program.

What I Did

  • Taught 2-3 classes weekly that covered basic excel, google analytics, and digital marketing work.

  • Reviewed the work and mentored 4 students assigned to me.

  • Supervised a smaller unit of our cohort while they completed their final project. The goal was to create and setup a paid social strategy for a small clothing business in New York City.

Results

  • The final project was a success: the small clothing brand saw more traffic to its website, and our cohort taught the owners to manage their Meta ads account at a basic level.

  • Cohort members went on to land their first jobs within 6 to 12 months of finishing.

Challenge
COOP Careers is an organization that helps first-generation and low-income college graduates with professional development. I was a student in this program and found my first job through the COOP alumni network. I decided to give back and become a captain and teach those students what I’d learned.

My role
I taught 2 - 3 night classes a week over 16 weeks with 2 other co-captains. We assisted our cohort with training, mentorship, and hands-on projects like resume building, excel, and google analytics, and Meta ads manager.

Tools
Meta Ads Manager, Google Analytics, Excel
